Oh my goodness! I have not published since before the first day of school! Bad, bad mommy. To be honest, things have been SO busy around here that I actually FORGOT that I have a blog. Sigh...
So...let's see. Where to start?
First day of kindergarten: the 1st day went great. M loved it and came home to tell me that everything about kindergarten is GREAT. And, that "it was just like preschool only we learned stuff." He has settled very well into school and seems to be enjoying it and thriving. He is also learning that not everyone looks like him or has the same manners as him (he was shocked, shocked that kids at lunch chew with their mouths open. Then he decided that the fact that this is gross was cool. Oh the wonderful things they learn at school...) We could not be happier with our local school, a public school, and I'm grateful to my friends who put up with thousands of questions (some of them probably not so tactful) and reassured us that it was a good place to send our little one.
Reading: M has become quite the reader lately. He loves Scooby Doo Mysteries, Magic School Bus chapter books, and pretty much anything printed on which he can lay his hands. He will read for hours. Great, right? Yes, except now I'm having a hard time getting him to come eat dinner, wash his hands, do his homework, etc. I always swore that I would never tell my kid to "stop reading" like I heard so often, but it is looking as if I may have to eat my words...
